Katherine Janeway & Chakotay

The Janeway and Chakotay relationship was one of the many casualties left in the wake of Jeri Taylor's departure from the series she had helped create. The humanity was sucked from the show in an effort to showcase Brannon Braga's pet Borg. Voyager had became a ship of strangers.

No single episode showed the steady decline of the show more than the highly anticipated final voyage, Endgame. For any JetCer Endgame was a bitter disappointment & left many Voyager fans with a sour taste in their mouths. The eleventh hour Chakotay & Seven romance was a slap in the face to many fans. The long awaited arrival home was emotionally flat. Even the crew didn't seem to care that they were home. The birth of Tom & B'Elanna's daughter was merely an after thought. Where was Naomi Wildman? Or her mother? Oh sure, the Borg story was solid & the performances wonderful. Alice Krige shown as the Borg Queen. Kate Mulgrew was fantastic as Admiral Janeway.

We expected better & we deserved better. For a lot of fans it was the end of their time as a Trekker. How sad.
